Autumn

AUTUMN

Every light has a story to tell

every door, every bell

Spiralling leaves fall upon the lamp posts glaze

landing upon the sodden pavement

causing some kind of screwed up maze

The weeping willow slouches in utter disgust

the velvet darkness of the night

ready to encrust

The autumn night is mild

just a tad of a chill

the stillness of the night

eerie haunting,waiting to thrill
