The stillness of the water

Reflections of the tree's

Glimmer on the waters surface

A green and copper back drop

Complete the scene

Of an Idyllic setting

So tranquil and serene

Green moss clinging to tree stumps

Branches and bark

Like a blanket covering a baby

To keep it snuggled and warm

People cycling walking, enjoying picnic's

Soaking up the scenery

Spending time with their families

Deflated

Feel so let down by the system

The harder you try, the harder you fall

I don't ask for much do I?

Thanks for nothing!

Feel so let down, feel deflated

Can't really remember the last time

I felt truly elated!

Life of late has a constant string of "downs"

Not much to smile about

Just a variety of frowns!

No light at the end of the tunnel

No magic wand to make life better

No YOU HAVE WON A MILLION POUNDS

In a gold encrusted letter!

No pot of gold at the end of no rainbow

No holiday to plan ahead

So I think I'll just stay here

Under the duvet, in my comfy bed!

Oceans Deep

The sea horse glides...

Gracefully like a skilled ballet dancer

Through the tangled web of sea weed

In the oceans deep

The puffa fish puffs out into a ball

Showing off all his spikes

Defending himself

Against his foes

The array of colourful fish dart around

beneath the murky waters

Avoiding impending danger...

Beware those sharks, beware those sharp teeth!

The turtles stick together

Like

some synchronized swimming team

Knowing that their journey is long

And that their destination is worth the wait

The blue ocean sparkles

Like a thousand diamonds in a jewellers window

Inviting enticing....

The calmness of the water

Relaxing, thought provoking

Memories of happiness and sadness

The Loss Of A Good Friend

A chair that laughs

Where do we go when we die?

A place where all is not as it seems

Aliens?

Green faces? Bulging eyes?

Long fingers? laser guns and such

How do we actually know what aliens look like?

I mean healing powers and phoning home

Is really abit too much!

Are there other planets?

Green or otherwise

Have people really spotted UFO's?

Appearing in our starry skies

Think how rich we all would be?

Discovering an alien for all to see

Wonder what my mum and dad would say?

If I bought one home for tea one day!

Give Me A Job

There must be something out there I can Do

I'm willing to do whatever

Anything just anything I will work so hard

In any kind of weather!

I'm happy to be trained at something

More than willing to learn

I've been several months without a job

I won't give up, I won't crash and burn!

You can count the interviews on one hand

The replies are very few

I'm trying so very very hard

What more can one person do?

The Elements

The rain lashes at my bedraggled face

Like some angry bitch on a horse

Whipping it to go faster and faster

The howling wind turns the array of litter

Into a tumbleweed of destruction

A torrid frenzy of colourful umbrella's

Toss into the air like pancakes

Waiting some construction

The ferry teases me

As it slowly comes to shore

Can't it clearly see I have nowhere to shelter?

People run to the ferry

To steer clear from the rain

The cars sit there like orphans from the storm

Dreaming of hot tea and a warm fire

Consumed With Love

Two people meet, something clicks

They have common interests

A spark is ignited

They need to get their fix ( of each other )

Both constantly thinking about their new love

Both moving in the same direction

And seeing the same reflection

never letting go

The Eclipse

Why is it gonna get so cold?

Why is it gonna get dark?

Why did it take me an hour

To find a place to park?

It's this thing everyone is talking about

It's on every persons  lips

We can't wait until eleven minutes past eleven

Then we'll see the total eclipse!

Don't look up at the sun

It'll make your eyes go funny

Spend a fortune on glasses and wotnot

They know how to make their money!

Grrr! It's so cold

And mega eerie

Ten minutes past eleven

One minute left nearly......

Yikes! IT's so bloody dark

Some have travelled miles!

Oh look! the skys gone a beautiful pink

The birds are frantic, in a daze

The boats lit up so prettily

And i'm left in a haze

I just wanna see more

Devils Point

Sunlight reflects upon the calm february sea

A boat with bright red sails

Glides across the waters shimmering surface

To a destination known only to him

Sat upon the white pebbled beach

Pondering upon my life so far

A seagull swoops gracefully down

In the hope of finding scraps of leftover food

Children cheerfully throwing pebbles

Into the pool of murky water

Watching only to see their pebbles

Disappear in the gloomy depths

People taking photographs

Of landscapes set out before them

Hoping to catch that certain moment forever

Tranquillity prevails....

And all is right with the world

So you think your hard enough

Pitbulls on the end of their leads

Barking orders at them

Anger management take heed!

Just because you have a body full of tattoo's

And a rock hard attitude

Doesn't mean to say

You can be so god damn rude!

I bet you spend your sorry life

Downing spirits and taking drugs

And I bet all your so called mates

Are charming hard faced thugs!

Fighting isn't the answer

Why do you always look for trouble?

Someone looks at you the wrong way

And you want to burst their bubble!

So sort yourself out, life's too short

there's more to this world than drugs being bought

There has to be a way out.......

An exit sign in view

An escape route that takes

You to where only you want to go

A place to forget the world

And all It's dark hidden truths

A hide away a sanctuary

A place for you alone

Hibernate in your own cocoon

Stay there until the warmth of the sun

Touches your soft skin

Only then venture back out into the world

Tread carefully upon your chosen path

Find the right direction

Take me to another planet

You handsome spaceman in a suit

Take me away from all of this

Just don't shove me in the boot!

A blue police box will surfice

It's bigger on the inside they say

That's all well and nice but......

I want to travel in time and space

Walk on the moon, swing from the stars

make friends with an alien race!

Timelord spaceman, my salvation

Take me to your great space station!

An Ode To Cricket

It's time for tea and scones

And watching english cricket

Hoping that our boys

Don't put their legs before the wicket

The batsman is at the crease

The bat tightly gripped

Those aussie's are going to be

well and truly whipped

The bowler spins the ball

The batsman aims it high

FOUR shouts the crowd

As the ball hurtles into the sky!
