The sounds of the waves

Crashing against the rocks

The boats bobbing up and down

The angry sea mocks

Hours later the sea is calm

The boats safe and still

People in the sea

Have all come to no harm

Looking at the sea

Feeling tranquil and serene

Listening to the waves

Taking in the scene

I want to live by the sea

It will keep me calm and content

Need to win the lottery

A house by the sea......money well spent!

A Good Book

A good book is easy to find

Look at the cover

The pages, the bind

A good book stays in your mind

Books take you away from it all

A golden beach, a farm, somewhere sunny

A romance, a dance, second chance

And a book doesn't cost too much money!

Can't wait to get to the end

Will her knight in shining armour finaly arrive?

Will it end in sorrow?

And off that cliff she will drive

So if you want some form of escape

And you are fed up with everybody's moans

Then move your butt

And get yourself to WATERSTONE'S!

Fireworks

Whizz bang sparkle sparkle

As the fireworks descend

Filling the skies with bright colours

Never want this display to end

Lot;s of whoops and oh's as the crowd look to the sky

Children  excited and amazed

Time for the big catherine wheels

Which will leave everybody dazed

The bonfire is glowing

As guy fawkes meets his end

Time for some hot soup

And laughter with a friend.

Going To The Theatre

Going to the theatre

Really is a treat

It's even better

When you get a really good seat

Waiting for the curtains to open

Excitement is mounting

Come on hurry up half past seven

Not that I am counting!

The show gets off to a great start

Actors singing and dancing

With all their heart

All looking like they were made for the part

Songs you can join in with

Make you feel so good

If only I could dance like that

If I could get on that stage I would

The costumes are so dazzling

A treat before your eyes

Women wearing fancy dresses

Men In suits and bow ties

Before you know It the show is over

The audience clap loudly

The cast have done a brilliant show

Of that they should think proudly

Football

What is it that makes men quake?

Its only a football match for goodness sake

There's no need to rant and shake

We could of had a picnic by the lake

Okay so you lost your bet

All those goals were just not met

I know you had your mind set

On a holiday where the weather aint wet!

Your team are just going through a bad patch

Agreed it wasn't such a brilliant match

And that new player may not have been a good catch

Buy another drink, come on down the hatch

There's always next week

To claim those much needed points

Husbands down the pub

Wives cooking joints ( of meat! )

Just remember It's only a game

And not everybody else is to blame

If your team loses

Please keep it tame.....

Going To the Dentist

Hello lie back and relax

Through gritted teeth I try

Ok open wide

Please don't let me die?

Your tooth has to come out

OH great I smile to myself

Stay strong It will soon be over

Just think about your health

The needles don't bother me

In fact they never will

But what really bothers me

Is how LOUD is that bloody drill???

Just a few stitches and almost done

Your mouth will be sore for a while

Thirty quid later I'm out the door

Thank god I still have my smile!!!

The Local

Our local is friendly and welcoming

Noisy at times but fun

So many people to talk too

Especially when your team has won

Live music every Saturday and Sunday

To sing along too or dance

Some people would probably dance on the tables

Given half the chance

Betting slips at the ready

Checking all the footie scores

Talking, laughing and joking

Rebels without a cause!

The landlord and landlady

Know almost everyone

Making sure all is well

And people are having fun!

I love our local pub

And it's only up the road

Listening to peoples stories

And how they all unfold

Not far to go home

When last orders have arrived

Our local is a busy pub

Which has thrived and thrived

So next time you find yourself in Albert road

Now you can drive

Your world is your lobster

Cruising around the hoe

Like some famous mobster

You can go anywhere you like

But try not to get lost

Just think of the petrol

Giving lifts to friends

Drinking diet coke in the pub

Or going burger king for grub!

Now you can drive

You can only do your best

In your driving test

As long as you have learnt the highway code

And listened to all you have been told

Take your time

Be at one with your car

Go at the correct speed

Going fast wont get you very far

Be observant, be aware

Make sure you know

That other drivers are there

Your test is over at last

Holiday In The Sun

A few weeks holiday in the sun

Sand, sea, and cocktails

And having lot's of fun

Swimming in a pool

Glistening with the suns rays

Sunbathing, people watching

Make for happy days

Or if you want adventure

Join in with the day trips

Eat all the rich exotic food

That will go straight to your hips

Time to go home

To a not so glam location

I could become a holiday rep?

Dangerous Drivers

You think your clever don't you?

Going through a red light

Didn't you see the motorcyclist

Wasn't he within your sight?

Why drive so bloody fast?

Can't you see the dangers?

All that devastation

A family man killed

But to you he was just a stranger

How did you pass your test?

Didn't you learn the highway code?

Dangerous driving ruins lives

What's this anarchy all about?

There's no need to scream and shout

No need for all this torching and looting

No need for violence, next it will involve shooting!

Prove your point, but not this way

Carnage at night

Normality by day!

Peoples lives and businesses ruined

By such random acts

Opportunists joining in

Not knowing all the facts

All those servicemen and women

So many lives were lost

Fighting for our country

But at what cost?

Life is so precious

So why is everyone drowning in their sorrow's

If they carry on the way they are

They won't see many tomorrow's

Okay so your a werewolf

And your really mega hot

And you take your shirt off

At every chance you've got!

Not that I'm complaining

When your on screen I drool

Okay so I'm forty three

And I have a poster of you on my wall!

Bella should be with you

Not that pale faced Edward guy

Bella marry Jacob

His love for you won't die!

But we all know the outcome

How It's gonna be

Edward wins his Bella

But I suppose that leaves Jacob

Tintagel Castle

Tintagel castle, surrounded by myth and magic

Overlooking the cliff tops

Merlins cave, a crashing wave

Against the castle rocks

Just imagine king arthur and his many knights

Drinking merrily around the round table

All their horses rest their weary heads

In the knights of the round tables stable!

Merlin waves his magic wand

And the sea sparkles with a million diamonds

glistening and sparkling

In the mid day sun

Tranquil, calm, still

The world is as one

And I am at one with the world

Golden Daffodils

A glaze of golden daffodils

Row upon row, field upon field

Scattered randomly

By some mad scatterer of bulbs

Daffodil pickers beware

The sunlight hides their glare

Pick them at your peril

And live the nightmare

A carpet of white mist 

Wraps itself around the landscape

What lies beneath the mist?

Some mystery? some evil fiend?

Or just fields of golden daffodils unseen!

Where have the years gone?

You've grown up far too fast

Make the most of their childhood

Because as soon as you know it, it's in the past!

Off to the pub with your mates

Your clearly an adult now

It doesn't seem five minutes ago

You were in your nativity play

Taking a well earned bow!

Now you've got a girlfriend

I see you less and less

But one thing will remain the same

Your room will always be a mess!

Your all grown up now

It's just one of those inevitable things

I'm just finding it very hard

To cut those apron strings

The world is truly your oyster

For you to truly explore

Diets

Food is my enemy

I worship it too much

Food is my comfort blanket

Why can't  I just look  and not touch?

Eat less, move more

Easy don't you think

I best get back on that stuff

You know, the meal within a drink

I just wanna be slim

Not too much to ask?

Can someone invent a diet please

That is clearly built to last!

I want to buy new clothes

That don't resemble a tent

Need to get rid of all this fat

Need to reinvent ( myself )

I know I can do it

Disneyland Paris

You've waited so long for this trip

With such anticipation

Come on mum and dad hurry up

Take us to the station!

The train takes us to london

Waterloo is our stop

I feel an ABBA song coming on

Oh look there's a shop!

Stay in london over night

Can't sleep, excitement mounting

Hurry up time! go faster

All these sheep I am counting

I'm  finally on the euro star

My family by my side

These feelings of elation

I really just can't hide

Disneyland Paris

Staying at the hotel Cheyenne

So excited, can't wait to explore

Quick! lets write up a plan!

Three days, such alot to see

Queueing up for rides and such

Chasing after autographs

I love this place so much

Getting dizzy on the teacups

Thunder mountain, too fast for me

Let's explore the shop next

So much for us to see

Going to paris for the day

Exploring the usual sights

The glorious Eiffel tower

Best take the lift

Too many flights ( of stairs )

The view is amazing

Breath taking to behold

If Paris had a price tag

To me it's just been sold!

I've met mickey mouse

Eeyore, woody, tigger too

So many good things I have seen

You must visit Disneyland Paris

I can happily say I've been!
